Dear Constituent,
For the most part, this has been another typical Canadian January - A cold one.
That's why I thought I'd let you know a little bit about what our government's accomplished in the coldest parts of our nation - The Arctic.
Our government has done a lot to strengthen Canadian presence in The North. We're protecting our environmental heritage and starting a cutting-edge environmental science arctic research station.
We're also asserting our sovereignty by establishing a Canadian Forces Arctic Training Centre in Resolute Bay and a naval docking and refuelling facility just inside the North West Passage.
These are just a few examples of what we're doing to both open up new opportunities, and strengthen our presence in our North.
I hope for the rest of the winter you and your family keep warm and healthy (despite the weather).
Best regards,
- Rick
