Defending our North
September 2010
Dear Constituent:

I can't believe that summer is almost over! As we start shifting gears into Autumn, I'd like to share with you some of what our government has been doing in our North.

Prime Minister Stephen Harper and our Conservative Government are committed to protecting and asserting sovereignty over our Arctic. We need to continue to exercise our sovereignty while strengthening the safety and security of Canadians.

That's why we've recently announced new improvements to the Churchill Airport - an important northern transportation hub. We're also designating new wildlife areas to protect the Beluga Whale and instituting a new High Arctic Research Station so we can learn more about our Northern backyard.

I've included more information and some links below for you if you're interested in learning more about these measures.

As always, please feel free to get in touch with me if you have any questions or need to share your thoughts or concerns.

Yours Truly,

- Rick
